What you’ll learn

  • Run a 15-minute one-on-one with a fixed agenda where the team member talks for more than half the time
  • Give critical feedback in SBI form, situation, behaviour, impact, with no judgement words and a clear ask
  • Praise specifically enough that the person knows exactly what to repeat
  • Hold a performance conversation that names the gap, agrees a plan and a review date without threats
  • Respond to a resignation calmly, understand the reason, and agree a handover without pressuring the person
  • Delegate a task with outcome, constraints, deadline and check-in agreed, and confirm understanding

This course is for

First-time managers, new team leads and senior ICs about to manage people. You were promoted because you were good at the work. Nobody taught you how to run a one-on-one, tell an engineer their code reviews are late, or sit across from someone who just resigned. This course gives first-time managers in tech, services and sales teams the scripts: a 15-minute 1:1 agenda, SBI feedback (situation, behaviour, impact), praise that is specific enough to repeat, a performance conversation, a resignation conversation and clear delegation. An AI team member pushes back, goes quiet or gets defensive the way real people do. Capstone: a difficult 1:1, scored.
