What you’ll learn

  • Walk into a room, stop, greet and sit in a sequence that reads as calm, without rushing the first sentence
  • Offer a firm two-second handshake or a steady namaste with a name and a greeting matched to the setting
  • Hold eye contact for a full sentence, nod at the speaker's key words and name what they said before replying
  • Keep hands visible and still at rest, and use two gestures that mark a number or a contrast while speaking
  • Match facial expression to the words, smiling at the greeting and the close and listening with a neutral face
  • Describe out loud what a chosen outfit and grooming choice will say in a given setting and adjust it with one change

This course is for

Interview candidates, new managers and anyone who meets clients or audiences. People decide a great deal about you before your first sentence ends, and almost all of it is trainable. This course takes the first ninety seconds apart and rehearses each piece out loud: the walk-in and posture, handshake or namaste and greeting, eye contact and nodding while the other person speaks, hands and gestures that help, a face that matches your words, warmth in the voice, and a plain, judgement-free talk-through of what clothes and grooming say. Lesson 7 mixes everything; the capstone runs three entrances: an interview, a client meeting and a stage.
