What you’ll learn
- Introduce yourself to a stranger in three sentences and ask one question that keeps the conversation going
- Refuse a request politely in two sentences with one reason, no more than one sorry, and no long excuse
- Ask clearly for a seat, a refund or a raise with a specific request and a pause, instead of a hint
- Disagree with a senior using I see it differently plus one reason, without apologising or backing down at the first pushback
- Accept a compliment with thank you plus one sentence, and give a specific compliment that names what the person did
- Speak up in a group as the junior using a two-line entry and hold the point through one interruption
Skills you’ll practise
This course is for
Anyone who over-apologises, avoids asking, or stays silent as the junior. Confidence in conversation is not loudness; it is a handful of short sentences said without apology and followed by silence. This course drills them in real settings: introducing yourself to a stranger at a wedding or a conference, refusing a relative or a colleague politely, asking for a seat, a refund or a raise, disagreeing with a senior without saying sorry, taking and giving compliments cleanly, and speaking up in a meeting when you are the youngest in the room. Lesson 7 mixes the situations at random and the capstone runs three high-stakes conversations back to back, scored.
