What this interview looks like
Selection runs in stages: the computer-based Coast Guard Common Admission Test, a Preliminary Selection Board with a picture perception and discussion test and a cognitive battery, then the Final Selection Board at the Coast Guard Selection Board in Noida, then medicals and training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The FSB is run on SSB lines over about four to five days. The personal interview is 40 to 60 minutes one-on-one with a senior Coast Guard officer trained as an Interviewing Officer. It opens with rapport, moves through the personal information questionnaire in long multi-part questions on schooling, family, friends, hobbies and achievements, then tests practical intelligence with situations and awareness of the Coast Guard's charter and current maritime affairs, and ends with motivation and self-assessment. Branch-specific questions follow the candidate's entry: flying record for CPL holders, engineering for Technical, maritime law for Law, and mathematics, physics and sea sense for General Duty. The ExamPilot mock is a 20-minute one-on-one with an Interviewing Officer persona, personalised to your branch.

What to expect
5 rounds, one after another
One-on-one with the Interviewing Officer, as on days two to four of the five-day Services Selection Board. Rapport, then the rapid-fire personal-information-questionnaire block in long multi-part questions (family, schooling, college, friends, hobbies, sports, responsibilities, achievements), then practical situations and awareness, then motivation for the forces and honest self-assessment. A single officer runs every stage, cross-checks every answer against the PIQ and earlier answers, and gives no feedback. The score is a rating on the Officer Like Qualities, not marks.

How scoring works
A report you can act on
Every round is scored on the rubric
Each interviewer scores only the criteria their round covers. Weights add up to your overall score out of 100.
Only what you actually said counts
Feedback quotes your own answers. Rounds you skip show as “Not assessed” rather than a zero.
Communication is always measured
Fluency, clarity, confidence and structure are tracked across the whole interview, in any language.
