Private School, Coaching & EdTech Jobs — Interview and Demo Class

Interview and demo-class practice for teachers applying to private CBSE, ICSE and IB schools, for JEE, NEET and UPSC coaching faculty posts, and for edtech roles such as academic counsellor, online tutor and curriculum developer. The mock mirrors the principal-led school panel with a demo-teaching segment and the fast, numbers-driven edtech manager round.

What this interview looks like

There is no common board here: every school, coaching chain and edtech company runs its own process, but the pattern is stable. A private school typically shortlists on the CV, holds a written or subject test for secondary posts, then a demo class of 15 to 30 minutes in front of real students or the panel, followed by an interview with the Principal, the subject or academic coordinator and sometimes a management representative or HR, lasting 20 to 40 minutes. The panel probes subject depth at the level to be taught, lesson planning and competency-based assessment under NEP 2020 and CBSE or ICSE norms, classroom management, how the teacher handles parents, and commitment to the school. Coaching institutes add a problem-solving demo on a competitive-exam topic and ask about batch handling, DPPs and test analysis. Edtech companies run one or two short manager rounds with role-plays: a counselling call for sales roles, a two-minute whiteboard teach for online tutors, and a content critique for curriculum roles, with strong emphasis on targets and on ethical selling. The ExamPilot mock compresses the school and coaching process into an 18-minute four-member panel with introduction, subject, pedagogy with a demo micro-segment, school situations and a closing, and the edtech process into a 12-minute one-on-one with a hiring manager.

How scoring works

A report you can act on

  1. Every round is scored on the rubric

Each interviewer scores only the criteria their round covers. Weights add up to your overall score out of 100.

  2. Only what you actually said counts

Feedback quotes your own answers. Rounds you skip show as “Not assessed” rather than a zero.

  3. Communication is always measured

Fluency, clarity, confidence and structure are tracked across the whole interview, in any language.

  4. Pass mark, then a plan

You see the pass mark for this interview, your gaps, and the courses that close them fastest.
