For TNPSC, Tamil Nadu police and teacher boards, bank panels in the state and employers who interview in Tamil.
Interviews in Tamil
Tamil Nadu boards interview in Tamil as a matter of course. The TNPSC Group 1 oral test lets candidates answer in Tamil or English, and a large part of the panel's questions are about the state, its districts, schemes and current affairs. The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, the Teachers Recruitment Board, Medical Services Recruitment Board and cooperative and municipal panels sit in Tamil. Bank interviews in the state allow Tamil for RRB and clerical posts, and many PO panels accept it where the board allows. UPSC accepts Tamil as a medium of the personality test on request.
In an ExamPilot mock in Tamil, the panel asks in Tamil with subject terms in English where that is how they are taught, follows up on your answers, and accepts Tamil or English. The report is in English and scores content, structure and communication separately.
Rehearse the questions these boards ask in Tamil: your district, a scheme you would improve, a current issue in the state, why this post and not another, and the subject you studied. Practising aloud in Tamil is different from reading notes in English, and the mock shows the gap.

Most Indian candidates do not speak one language at a time. You can answer in Tamil, in English, or mix the two the way you would across the table — technical terms in English, the rest in Tamil — and the interviewer keeps up. Where a round assesses communication, the report notes it; otherwise nobody marks you down for switching.
If Hindi is the mix you actually speak, there is a dedicated Hinglish mode where the panel itself asks in Hindi-English.
