Mock bank officer interviews with a panel that asks about banking, the economy and your own background.
How it works in India
Public-sector bank and financial-regulator recruitment ends with an interview after the Mains. For IBPS PO, the interview score is combined with the Mains in an 80:20 ratio for the final merit; SBI PO adds a group exercise to its interview round; RBI Grade B, NABARD, SEBI, SIDBI and the insurance companies run their own interview stages with their own weightage. Panels usually have four or five members — senior bankers or officers, an HR or psychology member, and sometimes an expert from the regulator or a government nominee.
Most panels start with you: your name, home town, education and why you want to leave an engineering or IT career for banking, if you have one. Then they move to banking awareness — the repo rate and how it reaches borrowers, NPAs, financial inclusion, digital payments and UPI, priority-sector lending — and to the economy and current affairs. For specialist posts the domain dominates: credit appraisal for agriculture or MSME officers, economics and policy for RBI DEPR, statistics for DSIM. Situational questions test integrity: a customer offering a gift, pressure to sanction a weak loan, a fraud you notice.
Prepare by knowing the basics of banking very well rather than everything superficially. Be able to explain concepts in plain language to a customer, not in textbook terms. Follow the RBI’s monetary policy announcements and the Union Budget, read about the bank or institution you are joining, and prepare honest, specific answers about your background.
ExamPilot’s AI bank panel covers IBPS PO, SO and RRB officer, SBI PO and CBO, RBI Grade B, NABARD, SEBI and other regulator Grade A posts, cooperative and central posts, and LIC and general insurance officers. Questions adapt to your profile, and many panels mix Hindi and English, as real ones do.
