What this interview looks like
Zoho's developer loop typically starts with an online or on-campus test of aptitude and programming, followed by two to four technical rounds held the same day or over consecutive days, where candidates are often asked to write code on paper or a whiteboard and walk through it line by line.
A later round typically moves to a small design or module-level problem, and the day ends with a technical HR or HR conversation on the candidate's reasons for Zoho, location preference across Chennai and rural offices such as Tenkasi, and long-term intent.
Zoho does not screen on college or degree, and the Zoho Schools of Learning route brings in school-leavers through a longer training programme. The support loop is typically a written test of English and aptitude, sometimes a group discussion, then a technical or product round where the interviewer plays a customer, and an HR round.
Round counts and durations vary by team and by drive, so treat them as typical rather than fixed.
ExamPilot compresses the loop into a 17-minute panel: HR screen, a hiring-manager round on your project and a Zoho scenario, a role or technical round in your chosen profile, a short STAR behavioural round and a closing on expectations, scored on role knowledge, problem solving, communication and attitude.
How it is weighted
The written test shortlists; the product round and HR round decide. Interviewers weigh how the candidate asks clarifying questions, explains a fix in plain words, writes a short customer reply, and stays calm when the customer is upset. Here each round is scored against the corporate rubric (role knowledge 30, problem solving 25, communication 25, attitude 20).
Who this is for
Candidates who have cleared Zoho's written test for support roles, typically English comprehension and writing, aptitude and sometimes basic technical questions, and in some drives a group discussion.
The technical or product round often has the interviewer act as a customer with a problem in a Zoho product, and the HR round covers shift timings for global customers, location and long-term intent. Process pattern as of recent drives.
The panel focuses on
- Troubleshooting a customer problem aloud, clarifying questions first
- Clear written English: a short customer reply with cause, fix and next step
- Working knowledge of two Zoho products and a realistic customer use case
- Escalation judgement: what goes to engineering and what you tell the customer meanwhile
- Patience and tone with a frustrated customer, honest about product limits
- Shift timings for US and Europe customers, Chennai or rural office, and long-term intent
